On the cusp of what appears to be a rapid slide back to the Dark Ages, letters such a Peter's, Eric's, John's and Michael's are luminous and strong. They may fall on the deaf ears of power but they sustain the rest of us in our struggle. In the fullness of time another spiritual leader, steeped in Christian and Australian spirituality, history and poetry, will recognise the irrepressibility of the human spirit even when overwhelmed by blind power.
Thanks Peter and all of you for your tenacity and hope. And thanks Peter for your offer to work with us.
Meanwhile, it's back to the barricades...

Thank God for rare people like Fr Maher.These are the true Catholic's....speaking out without concern for being politically correct; blind loyalty and prepared to have the guts to speak out when they see an injustice.
