Introduction Thomas A. Dunne is Vice President of Verizon’s Public Policy and External Affairs for the City of New York. He has over 20 years experience in both the public and private sector on legislative and policy issues. At Verizon, Mr. Dunne is responsible for the corporations’ interaction with various government agencies and officials. He provides insight and guidance on telecommunications issues, technology, corporate law, workers compensation, taxes and environmental issues. Prior to his position with Verizon, he was appointed by Governor Cuomo as Vice Chairman of the New York State Worker’s Compensation Board. This agency is responsible for administering New York State’s Worker’s Compensation law. During his tenure with the Board, Mr. Dunne’s extensive interaction with the Legislature, Governor’s Office, Business Council and various Unions helped in gaining support for and eventual passage of key workers’ compensation reforms. Mr. Dunne is a member and sits on the Board of The Citizen’s Crime Commission, New York City Police Foundation, American Society of Workers’ Compensation Professionals (AMCOMP), The New York City Parks Foundation, and Opus 118, Harlem School of Music.
