Gender Female
Occupation Nurse Practitioner, Midwife, Writer
Location CA, United States
Introduction Since 1966, my family has 3 adult generations influenced by Maharishi. Saw ' psychosis, suicides, & losses. 1966 child initiate in the Olson home, raised in TM as a "Child of the Age of Enlightenment," cared for younger kids, helped establish MIU Prep in Santa Barbara. I loved my enmeshed community! Despite pressure, I refused teenage TTC because Initiators ceased laughing. Preferring blue jeans over sarees, I married young and began a family -typical devotee life in Fairfield "Support of Nature," financial instability, building domes, raising children, bankruptcy, trailer life "Utopia Park"! In 1988 I convinced my then-husband to leave FF. It took several years to learn life outside TM paradigm. Self-deprogramming was painful. Some family members continue with TM (& other groups), with magical mindsets. Family-like relationships continue with some now-grown TM kids, bonded by our insane history. We CAN have victorious lives after TM! For old TM buddies, I'd love to hear from you! Click here for 2005 family photo (how kids grow!).
