| Introduction | തൃശൂർ തിരുമിറ്റക്കോട് പരേതരായ ടി.ആർ കുമാരൻ്റേയും പി.ആർ തങ്കമണിയുടേയും മകനായ സുജിത്ത് 2001 മെയ് 14 മുതൽ കേരളകൗമുദി ദിനപ്പത്രത്തിൽ കാർട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റായി ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നു.സർവ്വകലാശാലാ കലോൽസവങ്ങളിലെ കാർട്ടൂൺ മൽസരങ്ങളിലൂടെയാണ് സുജിത്ത് കാർട്ടൂൺ രംഗത്ത് ശ്രദ്ധേയനാകുന്നത്.കാലിക്കറ്റ് സർവ്വകലാശാലാ കലോൽസവത്തിൽ ചിത്രപ്രതിഭ ആയിരുന്നു.വടക്കാഞ്ചേരി ശ്രീവ്യാസാ എൻ എസ് എസ് കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് രസതന്ത്രത്തിൽ ബിരുദവും തൃശൂർ ലോ കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് നിയമബിരുദവും തിരുവനന്തപുരം ലോ കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് ഭരണഘടനാനിയമത്തിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തരബിരുദവും നേടി.അഭിഭാഷകനായി എൻറോൾ ചെയ്തെങ്കിലും അതുപേക്ഷിച്ച് ഇഷ്ടജോലിയായ കാർട്ടൂണിലേക്ക് തിരിഞ്ഞു. വരയിലോ പത്രപ്രവർത്തനത്തിലോ സാമ്പ്രദായിക പരിശീലനം നേടിയില്ലെങ്കിലും നിരവധി അംഗീകാരങ്ങൾ നേടി.മികച്ച കാർട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റിനുള്ള സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാരിൻ്റെ മാധ്യമ അവാർഡ് പന്ത്രണ്ടു തവണ നേടി.ഇന്ത്യൻ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട് ഓഫ് കാർട്ടൂണിസ്റ്റ്സിൻ്റെ ദേശീയ കാർട്ടൂൺ പുരസ്കാരം,മൂന്നുതവണ കേരള ലളിതകലാ അക്കാദമി അവാർഡ്,കേരള മീഡിയ അക്കാദമി ഫെലോഷിപ്പ്,എട്ടുതവണ തിരുവനന്തപുരം പ്രസ് ക്ളബ് അവാർഡ് ,പാമ്പൻ മാധവൻ അവാർഡ് തുടങ്ങി നിരവധി പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.ഭാര്യ:അഡ്വ.എം നമിത.എം.ജി കോളേജിൽ ബിരുദവിദ്യാർത്ഥിയായ അമൽ,കോട്ടൺഹിൽ സ്കൂളിൽ ഒമ്പതാം ക്ളാസ് വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയായ ഉമ എന്നിവർ മക്കളാണ്. |
| Interests | T K Sujith, the son of the late T.R. Kumaran and P.R. Thankamani from Thirumittakode, Thrissur, has been working as a cartoonist for the Kerala Kaumudi newspaper since May 14, 2001. Sujith became well-known in the cartoon world through competitions at university art festivals, where he was named "Chithraprathibha" at the Calicut University art festival. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Srivyasa NSS College in Vadakkancherry, a law degree from Thrissur Law College, and a master's degree in constitutional law from Thiruvananthapuram Law College. Although he initially studied law, he decided to pursue his passion for cartooning instead. Even though he has no formal training in drawing or journalism, Sujith has won many awards. He has won the state government's media award for best cartoonist twelve times. He has also received several other awards, including the National Cartoon Award from the Indian Institute of Cartoonists, the Kerala Lalithakala Academy Award three times, the Kerala Media Academy Fellowship, the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club Award eight times, and the Pamban Madhavan Award. Sujith is married to Adv. M. Namitha, and they have two children: Amal, a graduate student at MG College, and Uma, a ninth-grade student at Cotton Hill School. |
