About Me
The Allegheny Institute for Public Policy is an influential non-profit research and education organization. We defend the interests of taxpayers, citizens, and businesses against an increasingly burdensome and intrusive government. To that end, we have formulated and advocated public policies that roll back the size and scope of local government as well as create a more accountable government. Over the Allegheny Institute’s ten-year history, our research and advocacy agenda has enjoyed a remarkable record of achievement. A partial list of topics that we have tackled includes: City of Pittsburgh finances, education spending, economic development, government-mandated wages, mass transit, and property reassessments. Our free publication Policy Brief is widely read and frequently referenced by elected officials. We have a strong record of helping to shape the debate and influencing policy in Southwestern Pennsylvania and across the Commonwealth. For more information and to subscribe to the Policy Brief, please visit our website at www.alleghenyinstitute.org.
