Charlie Pottins has been a labourer, left-wing journo (low paid or unpaid), porter and packer.
Charlie enjoyed a year at Newbattle Abbey adult college in Midlothian from 1968-9, and read History at Lancaster University from 1969-72.
A member of the Jewish Socialists' Group and an active trade unionist, he was in Palestine before the first Intifada and in Bosnia during the war there.
