Unaware of the time passing by, the clock now read 4am. Those same millions where now officially newly wasted city dwellers heading home. At a barely conscious state, they attempt to signal a cab. Totally disregarding the fact that it's New Year’s Day they close in on thirty minutes of flicking at the wrist. There's no fazing a determined New Yorker, no matter how dumb the matter may be." Hey! You’re not going to be able to catch a cab!" a friend said to another and she gave no reply back. She just kept on waving. Every now and then a cab would stop. I overheard a young lady asking the cabby to take her to Brooklyn. The cabby nonchalantly rolled up the window and kept it moving as if the route to Brooklyn is route to all evil. I don’t think the cabby knows there are white people in Bedstuy now! (Not to sound like Spike Lee but Brooklyn is kind of losing its charm) Lucky enough, there came that infamous black Crown Vic. So, there on their way. Good for them! I on the other hand will be taking the train. Yes, I'm going to jump on the B train. B for bravo Serge because you will be at home before the wrist flickers. Long story short, I got home, took a shower, went to bed, woke up salivating just a tad (signs of a great sleep) and now it seems as if it’s the 1st of February… who would have figured. As I walk about in my apartment with morning itch I say to myself, "if The Jetsons took place in 1999 Hanna Barbera was a great cartoonist but horrible as a prophet.” So, let me get this straight, it’s a new decade and the best we got is an iPad and the resurrection of 3D glasses? Nice! On a more serious note, America once again finds themselves helping a country they continuously disregarded. Haiti had a wound that others didn’t care to treat but, in a state of Emergency America claims the deliverance. Where will we stand as people for progression in the months to come?
