It is strange but it used to be very hard to get a credit card from "Nationwide". The main requirment was to be in electoral register. Now it looks "Nationwide" is ready to give away its card regardless visa, register etc. Anyway, we have a content insurance, so the perk with insurance for credit card would just help us to save "no claims" bonus.

Exactly! As for the initial number, it was same for me for the first bill. You had to go to recent charges, then recent charges again, then my mobile number, then choose your actual (ported) one. Their web interface is horrible!
